Belle parole fini a se stesse. Si ha la sensazione di leggere parole vuote, collegamenti insensati, una storia che manca di contenuto. Ma rifiuto di affidare il mio completo interesse alla trama portante. Eppure questa veroika il finale convince.

But something is missing in her life. So, one cold November morning, she takes a handful of sleeping pills expecting never to wake up.
But she does — at a mental hospital where she is told that she has only days to live. Inspired by events in Coelho Twenty-four-year-old Veronika seems to have everything — youth and beauty, boyfriends and a loving family, a fulfilling job. Inspired by events in Coelho’s own life, “Veronika Decides to Die” questions the meaning of madness and celebrates individuals who do not fit into patterns society considers to be normal.
Bold and illuminating, it is a dazzling portrait of a young woman at the crossroads of despair and liberation, and a poetic, exuberant appreciation of each day as a renewed opportunity.

Lists with This Book. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Veronika has a mild personality disorder and attempts a serious suicide attempt. She is placed in a vfronika psych.
She is beautiful and artistic and hypersexual and “special” I suspect that this is oibro way Mr. Coelho views himself as well Through pretentious and contrived conversations and situations filled with half-facts, pseudo-wisdom and a whole lot of malarkey she is cured. Vernika is not a novel but rather a vehicle for Mr. Co 2 bemused yes bemused stars! Coelho to brand his own personal philosophies to the masses.
Jaidee at 14 – 1 star- “really weird and kind of boring” Jaidee at 19 – 3 stars- “Wow that Veronika is one cool and veromika chick. Coelho sells so many damn books. View all 26 comments. For people who are concerned only superficially with the subject complex, the book is perhaps quite suitable. I found it very terrible and failed, especially in face of the fact that the approach could have a lot of potential, but this novel was anything but useful.

I actually fompleto glancing through a book shop and when suddenly this book caught my attention. I ‘ve previously read The Alchemist and i thoroughly enjoyed it.
But fecide was pretty awesome. In a sense, it was the truth of the western world and will be applicable to the eastern world which is actually involved all the time in copying the west. And from a very depressed state, with no great ambitions or desire deecide everyday life, veronica decides that life is not worthy of living and after a failed I actually was glancing through a book decidw and when suddenly this book caught my attention.
And from a very depressed state, with no great ambitions or desire in everyday life, veronica decides that life is not worthy of living and after a failed attempt to end her life, she wakes up in a totally unexpected place, the home of the mentally depressed. And she finds the anger, desire, hope and above all love in that place. I could not but admire the skillful way in which the story is narrated and i really really have become a big fan of paulo coelho.
The story is complicated and simply, paradoxical and inspirational. The character of Edward is still making me admire the novel and actually it took 3 and a half hours for me to finish the novel standing the book shop itself, as lirbo am not so rich to possess dexide copy of it. It is a transformation from irritation to hope, from disgust to pleasure. Please guys read it. It’s as pacy as a shoaib akhtar delivery and as interesting as a spielberg movie.
But you always get one thing on extra which you don’t get in ss movie or sa delivery, that’s what i call and still admire the novel for”LIFE” View all 6 comments.

Philosophy seems like something that should totally work for me, but the bigger picture, that moment of ocmpleto, of understanding, NEVER comes. The sole exception to this has been The Tao of Compketo know how there are just certain things in life that your brain simply cannot comprehend no matter how hard you try?
Say what you want, but that shit is legit. Veronika could take a lesson or two from Pooh Bear. So, Veronika decides to die. And she had decided to die.
So why continue to live it? Initially, this book started off strong and it seemed as if it would be an interesting look into the workings of a mental illness but Paulo Coelho opted to go for a philosophical angle instead which flawed the whole point he was trying to make.
No one can judge. Each person knows the extent of their own suffering, or the total absence of meaning in their lives. While I understand what Paulo Coelho was intending with this story, taking a serious subject like attempted suicide and giving it a picture perfect and unrealistic ending made it all so very contrived.
I love Coelho’s writing, and there are so many beautiful, inspiring quotes in this book. But as a whole? It was not that beautiful or inspiring. I can tell that that is what it’s supposed to be, but it certainly fell a little short. The message behind this book was a good one, to embrace life and to live it as if our days were numbered, which they, in fact, are. But the problem with this book is that it is very, severely, un-relatable.
People don’t just casually stand there and give tw 2. People don’t just casually stand there and give two-page-long speeches.
The dialogues, though they are wonderfully-written, were unrealistic. The shifting of focus on characters was very confusing, like the book is written in 3rd person limited, but one paragraph we’re focused on Veronika, then suddenly it’s not about her, it’s about Zelda.
At parts, i did feel like it added a little more to the scene, to be able to tell what the other characters were thinking, but at other parts it was just unnecessary and uncalled for. What i also didn’t like about this book was that, for the most part, there was no plot. Nothing was actually happening.
This book is more character-based and that might appeal to some people, but it didn’t work for me personally. The last 70 pages or so, from when Eduard shows up, the book started getting better and things started to pick up, but sadly, by which time i had lost interest.
Suddenly, the book turned into a love story, verinika was also rather abrupt and unrealistic. However, i feel dscide the story would have been better if the main focus was on the love story and it had started, or hinted at, earlier on in the book. Veronika Decides to Die was not as good as i though it would be, but i did enjoy the last part.
Aug 05, Kelly I am not a big fan of books that sermonize or which make an attempt to enlighten me Although I like this one better than The Alchemist, I still find it a bit of drudgery. I feel like the author works way too hard to show that he is more well-adjusted than I am. It is something I felt rea Geronika am not a big fan of books that sermonize or which make an attempt to enlighten me It is something I felt reading the former book and I felt it again with this one.
There was some talk of the city of Ljubljana which surprised me as verohika is not a city that I had ever considered visiting.
But this book made me go to Google and now it is on the list of places I wish I could see. Who the heck decided that this book – out of the hundreds of millions of books out there – belonged on the books to read before you die list?
Seriously, I don’t understand. I do not like Coelho’s style at all. Two dscide to back 2 star books do not make me a happy camper.
