Walk for Peace is involved in many projects & organisations. They mobilise people to be involved in the fight against crime.

How?

  • Marches to mobilise people
  • Promoting community policing - crime is everybody's problem!
  • Creating relationships with other organisations involved in the community
  • Relaying valuable information to the public regarding what the various departments are doing to fight crime.
Walk for Peace is a bunch of individuals committed to the upliftment of our communities, just normal people with normal lives who want to mobilise people in a positive manner to ensure that we all have the safety and security we deserve.

Walk For Peace - Unite Against Crime was started by Mandy du Plessis in June 2007.
It was triggered by yet another tragic crime, another life lost and another family left heart broken by a senseless murder.  It was time to make a stand against crime and mobilise people in getting involved in their communities.

Walk For Peace is apolitical and works for all communities and it's people.  Despite the individual WFP members political choices.

Crime does not discriminate - Walk For Peace was established to speak and work on behalf of all communities affected directly or indirectly by crime.

Walk For Peace has many objectives, one being to mobilise communities by marching peacefully in the streets to be involved and work together as a nation against crime.

One of the other objectives is to foster linkages with other organisations doing valuable work in our communities

We believe in small beginnings, to work consistently, to be consistent and to mobilise at least 1 more person along our journey to join us in our path to peace.
