The Industrial Age economic model creates money out of thin air and requires the living people and the Earth pay the bill in labor and natures resources. When peoples labor pays the bill a debt crisis is eventually created with poverty the inevitable result; when nature pays the bill the environment is damaged. This economic model based on competiton and conflict has created a legacy of debt, and a withering planetary environment.

Extreme Poverty results in Unsustainable Development.

Our flagship project to address poverty, Prosperity Program, utilizes the FDU economic model to overcome extreme poverty by providing individuals with access to information age markets, currency, and exchange systems. Combating poverty is the objective of Millennium Development Goal 1

Achieve Universal Primary Education

Target 2a: Ensure that all boys and girls complete a full course of primary schooling

2.1 Net enrollment ratio in primary education
2.2 Proportion of pupils starting grade 1 who reach last grade of primary
2.3 Literacy rate of 15-24 year-olds, women and men

In almost all regions, the net enrollment ratio in 2006 exceeded 90 per cent, and many countries were close to achieving universal primary enrolment.

The number of children of primary school age who were out of school fell from 103 million in 1999 to 73 million in 2006, despite an overall increase in the number of children in this age group.

These successes underscore that much can be accomplished with the political will of governments and with adequate support from development partners.

INVENEO: Provides people at the local level with Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) systems thereby empowering a means for them to prosper from the global marketplace of goods and ideas, get educated, and through telemedicine improves a number a health issues. 'Back to School?' - the worst places to be a school child

20 September 2010 ~ The Global Campaign for Education today launched their report 'Back to School?' of the worst places to be a school child in 2010. Somalia and Haiti have topped a list of the world’s worst places to be a school child as a new report from the Global Campaign for Education, backed by organisations including Education International, Oxfam, Plan, Save the Children and VSO warned that poor countries are teetering on the brink of an education crisis with the growth in access to education now stalling.

The agencies, which are part of the Global Campaign for Education who authored the report shows how, despite promises from leaders across the world, chronic under investment in education means that 69 million children are still out of school.

Feed the Children: responds to disasters worldwide, with focus on feeding children. Last year, they shipped 135 million pounds of food and other essentials to children, supplementing almost 800,000 meals a day worldwide.

She has worked in many developing countries, is coordinating our Peace Portal partnerships in the health and food sectors, and is the Executive Trustee of the Peace Portal Humanitarian Trust.

Action Against Hunger: saving the lives of malnourished children and their families while ensuring access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger.

Are we on target?
Carbon dioxide emissions reached 28 billion metric tons in 2005 and continued upward, resulting in increased atmospheric concentrations of CO2. Globally, emissions increased by 30 per cent from 1990 to 2005, with annual growth from 2000 to 2005 greater than in the preceding decade.

From 1990 to 2005, changes in emissions ranged from a 38 per cent decline in countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States to an 82 per cent increase in South-Eastern Asia. Per capita emissions remain the highest in the developed regions, about 12 metric tons of CO2 per person per year, compared with about 3 metric tons in developing regions and 0.8 metric tons in sub-Saharan Africa. Emissions per unit of economic output fell by more than 20 per cent in the developed regions, while they increased by 35 per cent in South-Eastern Asia and by 25 per cent in North Africa.

One World Youth Project: Unique middle & high school curriculum for its participating groups which focuses on the MDGs, cultural exchange, and service work.

UNDP Global Progress Report

The UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) most succinctly describes the Millennium Development Goals in terms of their specific targets, which:

synthesise, in a single package, many of the most important commitments made separately at the international conferences and summits of the 1990s;
recognize explicitly the interdependence between growth, poverty reduction and sustainable development;
acknowledge that development rests on the foundations of democratic governance, the rule of law, respect for human rights and peace and security;
are based on time-bound and measurable targets accompanied by indicators for monitoring progress; and
bring together, in the eighth Goal, the responsibilities of developing countries with those of developed countries, founded on a global partnership endorsed at the International Conference on Financing for Development in Monterrey, Mexico in March 2002, and again at the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development in August 2002.

Functionally, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight goals which nations of the world have contractually pledge to cooperatively achieve by 2015 that respond to the world's main development and humanitarian challenges.

The MDGs are drawn from the actions and targets contained in the United Nations Millennium Declaration that was adopted by 189 nations-and signed by 147 heads of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000.
