Room to Read is a fantastic organization, it is non-governmental and non-denominational; they sponsor various programs which bring access to education and the Internet to those in need. Room To Read has been made a large beneficiary of the Peace Portal Humanitarian Trust so that their programs can be installed as the centerpiece of community education at all Access Points. Room To Read is considered a Pillar of Peace, we at Peace Portal believe the work they are doing is critical to creating a sustainable future in the communities where Room To Read provides assistance. Room to Read sponsors the following projects, which we look forward to funding,m and integrating with other projects, partners, or solutions. Reading Room Program: Establishes libraries and stocks them with local language children books. Local Language Publishing Program: Sources new content from local writers and artists and then publishes high quality children s books from the content. When Prosperity Program comes online PeacePortal hopes that these local authors will be able to profit through sales to other cultures of their creative works, using the universal affiliate program so any and all can distribute the works of these local authors from around the globe. School Room Program: Room To Read parners with local communities to build schools so children have a safe learning environment. Based on the positive results Room To Read has achieved by partnering and networking, they serve as a excellent Best Practice example which PeacePortal partnering is also adopting, this is a excellent program which deserves further support. We encourage Peace Portal projects and partners to assist Room To Read in this and all of their projects. Computer & Language Room Program: establishes computer and language labs to provide students access to computer technology and to help them learn other languages. PeacePortal in conjunction with Project Access Point are duplicating this model with the addition of offering global markets that the Users may gain digital wealth from. We hope to partner with Room To Read when Project Access Point and Prosperity Program is brought online.
