Global Warming Steward Plan-it, Plant-it, Planet (P3) is the Steward of Peace Portal related tree and global warming content posted on this site, and Steward of our Global Reforestation and Cooling Solution Projects, including Paulownia Reforestation Project, and Community SAFE locations.    Peace Portal Radio Interview P3 is headquartered in Kauai, Hawaii,  with multiple partnering SAFE (Sustainable Alternative Farming Experience) locations being established around the world, you can even start your own.    We focus activities on resurfacing mined lands, phytoremediation, and inter-cropping of food using the Paulownia Tree for the many benefits it has to offer in terms of a Global Warming Solution for CO2 . Our goal is to respond to global warming emergency and build toward a sustainable future. Greenhouse gas emissions are on the rise and concentration of CO2 and other thermally active gases in the atmosphere are increasing. If the warming trend continues and CO2 emissions are not addressed global climate change could result.        CO2 Emissions Several types of policy instruments have been offered for consideration in the attempt to exercise control over this threat.  Examples include: CO2 taxes for big CO2 producing corporations, CO2 credits and subsidies for the use of non-fossil fuels, etc. Many of these are directed toward national emission reductions to fulfill the requirements of the Kyoto Protocol. Global scale reductions in greenhouse gases and CO2 emissions are the aim of policies to achieve abatement of the potent impacts of global warming. "This is a good step however counties that have excessively high emissions are not responding and reduction is simply not enough to call the Kyoto protocol a solution for global warming." CO2 credits do not accomplish the actual sequestration of CO2 and other harmful gases, to further the CO2 credits frenzy is to mask the problem. We need a global reforestation initiation and a global protocol able to address all sectors of the Information Age socio-economic time in which we live. The only solution is to sequester the CO2 and harmful gases and dusts directly out of the air through tree planting and production of low emission fuels. We need to direct the attention toward high CO2 sink points using Paulownia since it is the highest CO2 exchange tree available. We are networking and conducting a complete study of planetary thermodynamics (heat studies) and meteorology (weather studies) to find specific locations for paulownia tree planting projects. Paulownia are fast growing broadleaf deciduous trees, "The World Tree"  - in fact they are the fastest growing Hardwood Tree on the planet, with a history of legends going back to 1000 BC. In the first one or two years they are capable of growing several meters per growing season. The leaves on a vigorous juvenile tree can grow to over 1 meter in diameter.   The Paulownia can achieve a growth rate and tree size in only three to five years that would normally take other tree species 25 years. The Paulownia can regenerate itself or be propagated from root cuttings and tissue cultures. Tissue Culture is a technique in which plants are reproduced. Utilization of the Paulownia tree: Horticultural shelter for vegetables, flowers, bulbs and nursery planting providing protection against wind and summer sun. Many crops and some livestock will yield better results when grown under shade conditions. Instead of discharging effluent or drainage water from towns, feedlots and food processors into rivers, streams or the ocean, it can be used to irrigate Paulownia plantations.  Ornamental applications for boulevards and home yards from the living cells of an optimum chosen plant. Paulownia end products: Timber: Pauwlonia is widely used in Asia for furniture, decorative paneling and musical instruments. It is light and strong with a silky smooth finish and takes a wide range of stains. Plantation grown timber produces straight grained, knot-free timber. Paulownia timber could substitute for broad leaf timber that is harvested from the tropical rain forests of Asia, South America and Africa.  Structural Poles: At 3 to 4 years of age Paulownia trees can produce a very straight cylindrical pole with no side branches or deformities 18 feet in height and 10-12" thick. This log is light but very rigid and it will not sag under heavy loads, making it ideal for construction. In Shandon, China 4 year old poles are now used as ridge poles and uprights and 3 year old poles are used as rafters to support concrete and clay tiled roofs. Villagers claim that the poles are stronger and less prone to sagging than the traditional conifer poles. Veneer: Paulownia can be sliced or peeled finer than any other timber and still maintain its structural integrity. In Taiwan, Paulownia is sliced to 1/1,000 inch and veneered onto paper for decorative purposes. Paulownia veneer can be used to face composite timber products and make them more attractive. Most high quality veneer timbers are becoming increasingly expensive and harder to find as they normally come from broadleaf trees harvested from old growth forests. Veneer is the highest value end use for Paulownia timber.  Moldings and Architraves: Paulownia is ideal to use for moldings, architraves and wall paneling as the wood is light, strong and finishes well. Pulp: Fast grown Paulownia has excellent prospects for pulp as it can be harvested on a three to four year rotation after which it can be coppiced and allowed to regrow. The timber's long strong fibers are light colored and require little bleaching. The Paulownia pulp yield per cubic meter of timber is comparatively low so it is best mixed with other timber pulps. Plywood: In China, Pauwlonia is now being used as facing veneer on plywood. Paulownia has a naturally low level of turpentines and oils in its fibers, making the wood fire resistant, thus providing an additional safety factor. Human Rights Steward Light of Life Society is  an unincorporated Information Age Ministry established to provide educational support to humanity through missionary outreach.  A ministry auxiliary of Light of Life Society, the FDUPA (Free Digital Universe Private Association) created the Peace Portal website, Free Digital Universe website, Free Digital University website, and the collective web platform called the GATE upon which all these websites reside.     As the Human Rights Steward of the GATE platform our function is to maintain the integrity, character, and law forum of the GATE platform as a equal, non-prejudicial, and lawful private jurisdiction.   Light of Life Society as the founding jurisdictional authority of FDUPA  recognizes the spiritual and legal rights (based on the International Declaration of Human Rights) of GATE users, accounts, and affiliates. Light of Life Society congregants formed the FDUPA ministry auxiliary specifically for hosting a virtual educational Fair where youth could learn about themselves and creation by playing  non-violent virtual games, thereby providing an alternative to the violent virtual world games currently capturing the attention of youth.  Light of Life Society also works in the physical world to provide sustainable based outreach, and educational support to the communities in which we live.  Through coordinated service with friends, other faith associations, or partners, our focus is to integrate systems that will meet the Millennium Development goals for sanitary water, education, health care, and eradication of extreme poverty.  We currently have one working farm located in the state of Washington, where a self-sufficient and sustainable community demonstration model is under development.  *Note: Light of Life Society is a non-commercial ministry, FDUPA is a non-commercial ministry auxiliary of Light of Life Society; all commercial aspects of the GATE platform (inclusive the FDU charity fund raiser) are maintained by a Foundation, the Eleanor Roberts Educational Fund (a California non-profit), or other GATE Stewards who have either volunteered or been contracted by Foundation partners to maintain elements of the GATE platform.

The Trinity: Charity, Commerce, and Faith Associations PeacePortal in combination with FDU have evolved from a small educational "Virtual Fair" put on by a Information Age Ministry, into something much bigger; a full blown global charitable fund raiser managed by multiple Hosts.  Working collectively through associations, the various Hosts share in the common goal of sustainably addressing humanities transition into the next Age, we call it the "Information Age." Due to the diversity of requests from Ministry friends, humanitarian oriented organizations, individuals representing a variety of faiths, and others wishing to participate in the FDU Fair, a structure was created which resulted in Three distinct Host types; the Spiritual, Charitable, and Commercial. Collectively this group has built a connected platform or extra-net (FDU GATE) of websites to compliment the originating  FDU Fair.  The first addition to the FDU Fair was a fund raiser for the benefit of charitable, community, and humanitarian associations. The fund raiser taking place in the FDU Fair is called the "FDU Game."  The FDU Fair is under the auspices of the Spiritual Host, the FDU Game under the Charitable Host, and corporate vendors are Commercial Hosts.  Background and Hosts In the beginning, before the Fee Digital Universe was thought of, Ministers of Light of Life Society were discussing the negative effects that violent video games, particularly violent battle based Virtual Worlds was having on youth born in a age of daily computer use? What could be done? You can't force the kids not to use the computer, they'll need cyberspace tools and knowledge if they wish to succeed in the rapidly approaching Information Age knowledge market; they need to be comfortable with computers, not inundated and desensitized by them. The best answer seemed to be to offer a non-violent alternative where the users (youth and adults alike) could be given a framework wherein they would be thinking and relating to each other as equal Souls, in a fun co-creative virtual Fair.  The Ministry had done physical educational Fairs in the parking lot, why not do the same on-line in a virtual world, creating a virtual parking lot as a Ministry Auxiliary. We decided to create a Virtual Universe as a parable of existence where we could provide contexts for interacting between Digital Soules that reflected spiritual principles - as we understand them - with the agreement to communicate universal principles in as cultural neutral language (non-denominational) as possible.   It is our intent to example universal principles of life without dis-agreeing with each other over what names we give to these principles, who taught them, and or other diversions from actually "embracing the principles."   Honesty, security, love, basic rights, and truth are universal principles of all religions and cultures; these principles provide a common thread to all of humanity, without prejudice to belief systems. Upon great reflection we decided to create a pre-denominational (altruistic) Ministry Auxiliary (FDUPA) made up entirely of Digital Soules, who would begin preparing two websites, one a Free Digital Universe for educational interaction, and one a Peace Portal where positive action could be taken on environmental, humanitarian, and ecological solutions.   As friends, Ministry Members, and family of the Ministry began volunteering to create and implement the design it became apparent that greater potentials would become available to the users if a charity fund raiser could be added to the FDU Educational Fair.  Charles Strong of Unity Foundation came forward and offered to Host a humanitarian fund raiser in FDU, for funding solutions identified on PeacePortal. Light of Life Society as the jurisdiction of authority over FDUPA (a completely virtual auxiliary) accepted the offer and they became the Charitable Host. The Charitable Host is authorized to act as the Game Director with authority for regulating the integrity of all actions (commerce) between Soules expressing their potential inside of the virtual Free Digital Universe (FDU) Game, in coordinated association with the Commercial Host. FDU Hosts cooperatively and collectively organize the charities, corporations, and spiritual associations by jurisdictional areas of responsibility or Stewardship. The FDU Enterprise contains by necessity, multiple jurisdictional aspects be Hosted by entities appropriate to the jurisdictions each unique FDU Steward serves privately, and operates under legally. Each jurisdictional aspect, is answerable to the Host from which it derives authority to act. In order of procreational hierarchy, the three jurisdictional FDU Host's are the Spiritual, Charitable, and Commercial Hosts. Host Name Intent Type & Jurisdiction Spiritual FDUPA (LOLS) Service to God Humanitarian Ministry: Non-commercial Charitable UNITY Charitable Foundation: Commercial Non-profit Commercial FDUMA Corporate participation Association: Commercial For-Profits   It should be understood that the "Spiritual Host,"  FDUPA, provides the Digital Soule with potential, an account in "pre-expression" space from which the Soule may project it Self into a expressive virtual universe.  When a Soule expresses their potential through their Digital Bodies ("Avatars"), the Soule has left the realm of the Spiritual Host, descending into the jurisdiction of "Expressed Creation" (the Universe) which is overseen by the Charitable and Commercial Host responsible for the offerings associated with the "active" Free Digital Universe. Commercial Host: Game Management The Free Digital Universe Management Association (FDUMA) in association with WWDF Host the activities available on the FDU GATE platform.  FDUMA was established as a private and unincorporated association of charitable, commercial, and spiritual representatives who collectively Host the multifarious sector offerings evolving in the FDU Game. FDUMA consists of Game Vendors, Charities, and special Players whom act in coordinated concert to provide meaningful options for expressing the potential of each Digital Soule playing in the Game, themselves acting to achieve this from within the Game itself as a Vendor Player, or in the public realm through strategic charitable or commercial alliances. FDUMA Members agree to support the overall enterprise of FDUPA, uphold the sanctity of our Ministry grounds (albeit in cyberspace) and uphold the spirit of their agreements with conscious action. The intent of the Spiritual Host is to provide a context in which living people may choose to better their lives through cooperative social interaction in a equal worldwide forum using a cyberspace account called a Digital Soule, or Avatar, in a non-violent virtual world. The Ministry Auxiliary acts as Spiritual Host in hopes of furthering the Ministry covenant to: A) Altruistically support the spiritual evolution of mankind by sharing parables of universal existence so that each individual may gain insight that helps them to attain liberation and actualization of their innate nature for personal and spiritual growth. B) Supporting the well-being of all people throughout the world and the betterment of life on planet Earth by providing outreach and support to charitable organizations. C) Sharing spiritual messages using Information Age technologies to reach a global audience.   Digital Soules are available for beta at www.peaceportal.mobi
