The secondary characters I think are better developed from the last book too. She cares only about her happiness, not about her poor father who had to take up the duty and wants to relinquish it.
I loved Alera, she was the perfect 17 year old, she was strong, witty, knew what she wanted but wasn’t sure how to get it. Honestly its like looking into the mind of a selfish, idiotic and clueless kid.
He’s dark, mysterious, and able to hold his own in a fight, but refuses to let his ego get the better of him. I also appreciate that she is not perfect. The writing style is far less descriptive than in the first book. The author definitely has a way to connect the reader with the characters themselves, the bonds you feel with them is just as great as the ones you have in real life.
Besonders zu Beginn des Buches. I enjoyed this story as much as Legacy, the writing was still exemplary, rich and absorbing while a darker tone took over the book towards the end as war engulfed Hytanica.
Have they never heard of home kljver force? Sep 15, Melissa rated it it was amazing Shelves: And i can’t say the writing style changed much from then.
As my sister put it, it looks like a Christian romance, and while I will admit that there are a few Christian romances that I like, I have never been a fan of their cover art. There was generally more action, more legacj, and better dialogue. I was, I must admit, first intrigued by Legacy based on the cover because Mluver a huge cover slut.
For example, when a footman is announcing the arrival of the royal family to a ballroom, I really don’t care what he say- just tell me he did it and I’m cool beans.

She sits in her room for days, crying and reclusively shying from her public duty but by the end she’s definitely a different person with responsibilities so great that the future of Hytanica now rests on her shoulders. All the while, Alera, though married to Steldor, still finds her heart belongs to Narian. Seventeen year old Princess Alera of Hytanica is supposed to marry a man who will become king and her father’s choice is not one she wants.
Bonus points for books with maps! In the first 50 or so pages, every little thing is mentioned from the exact color of the girls’ gowns to their eyes to the layout of the hallways and everything!
I can totally understand the frustration the main character, Alera, goes through since she’s the leader of the place but unable to do anything about what’s going on around her.
But the thing is, I’m still wondering how this book was published. But how they exactly escaped is never explained. I can deal with–if it’s well done.
There was no character development whatsoever in terms of the main character, Alera. Unfortunately, Narian is forced to serve the Overlord, Hytanica’s enemy, and because of this, Alera knows she cannot be kluvver Narian. Aber das legte sich mit der Zeit und ich hoffe einfach mal, dass es im zweiten Band nicht mehr so sein wird.
There’s no life to them, with the possible exception of London, Alera’s bodyguard and the only person who seems to be less of a caricature and more of a human being. The first boy disappeared on the day of his birth, on a night when the pale yellow moon that ruled the sky turned red and bathed the heavens in the ghastly color of blood, the same night the Empire of Cokyri abruptly ceased its merciless attack.

Alera could have been so happy with him if she would have just given him a chance. What could one Cokyrian do that disrupts the peace?
What exactly is wrong with Alera? She seemed for me perfectly real and a very honest character.
